Admission process is highly selective. The school looks for the future government and business leaders. The committee considers the high school transcript the most important aspect of the application, but very strong consideration is given to essays, letters of recommendations, extra curricular activities, and standardized tests scores. A successful candidate will have taken demanding courses in high school and will have succeeded in all the activities they have enrolled in high school and extracurricularly.
Basic Information (Description):
The American Studies Program offers students an opportunity to think creatively and critically about the complex American culture. Students take courses in history, sociology, literature, music, government, fine arts, and anthropology. Additionally, students take courses with intercollegiate faculty tackling the concerns and themes in American culture. Students are to design their own course of study, following their area or areas of interest within the discipline.
