Admision Requirements:
The University of Delaware aims at students who are academically ambitious and creative, from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds and geographic regions. As the Admissions Committee evaluates an application, the rigor of the student's high school program, academic record (especially the trend in grades), SAT Reasoning and/or ACT with Writing scores, class rank, essays, letters of recommendation, and personal statement. Special talents and abilities, Delaware residency, and alumni/ae affiliation are also taken into consideration. The SAT Subject tests are recommended for all freshman applicants. The University also expects all applicants to have completed strong college preparatory course work at an accredited secondary school or certified home school program, including at least 18 credits of post-eighth-grade course work in: English, Math, Science, Social Science, Foreign Language, and Academic Electives. Prospective majors in economics should have completed four years of mathematics, including trigonometry, pre-calculus, and/or calculus.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Anthropology offers student the opportunity to specialize in social and cultural anthropology, but allows them also to have a firm foundation on archeology and physical anthropology. Coursework is complemented by museum visits, exhibits, films, field trips, and the opportunity tot enroll in an internship program.
