San Francisco State University admission criteria are: high school graduation; have a GED or the California High School Proficiency Exam; meeting the eligibility index with the student’s GPA and ACT/SAT scores; completing the college preparatory work of 4 years of English, 3 years of Mathematics, 3 years of Natural Science, 3 years of Social Science, 2 years of Foreign Language, and 3 electives, with a C or better; Students will also be required to complete the English Placement Test and the Entry Level Mathematics Test before being able to enroll on classes.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Asian American Studies offers students a program on Asian American experiences. The objective of the program is a disciplinary and interdisciplinary analysis of Asian American History, literature, arts, gender, family, community, and diversity of the Asian American population. Students are encouraged to study an Asian language that would allow them to have first-hand access do documentation and better understanding of the different cultures. The major requires students to take 39 units in five academic modules: Introduction to Asian American Studies, Asian American Ethnic Groups, Chinese American, Pilipino American, Japanese American, Vietnamese American, Asian American Community, Cross-group Topics and/or Electives, and the Senior Proseminar
