The Admissions Committee at Baylor University looks for students who have challenged themselves in and outside the classroom. Students are to express their interest to become "Baylor Bears" and appreciate the kind of education that Baylor has to offer. Students are required to send high school transcripts (including GPA, and advanced classes), SAT or ACT results, class ranking, recommendation letters, short answer essays, and a list of all extra-curricular activities and awards.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Anthropology combines practical and theoretical education in one comprehensive major. Students may choose between a general concentration in anthropology and forensic anthropology concentration. The general major covers the three sub-disciplines, and studies the ways of life of different people in different times. Courses offered include: criminal investigation, forensic entomology, human osteology, and many more. Students are also encouraged to enroll in the internship program in areas such as pathology, crime scene investigation, and toxicology. Additionally a big emphasis is placed on learning by doing, and on the practical aspects of the discipline. Students are also encouraged to study abroad in Central America, Greece, Scandinavia, and Texas.
