Basic Information (Description):
The PhD in Archeology offers students the possibility to become informed, critical examiners of core archeology issues, as well as getting extensive training in methods and theories of anthropologically oriented archeology. Students are encouraged to follow these principal research strengths: the archeology of complex societies; the archeology of ethnicities and languages; archeology, art, and religion; environmental archeology; and the archeology of human evolution. Furthermore all students are expected to acquire a basic understanding the Old and New world's complex societies, and basic notions in ethnography, and biological anthropology of particular relevance to the student's specific interest.
