The Admissions Committee at Swarthmore evaluates the student’s class ranking, standardized tests, extracurricular activities, essays included in the application, recommendation letters from two teachers and one from a counselor, and an interview to admit students.

The program in Ancient History offers students an opportunity to study Greek or Latin, as well as translation work in ancient texts. Students are required to take four ancient history courses, a one credit attachment to those history courses, and a Latin or Greek seminar.
