Prospective students should send a Common Application, a Harvard Supplement, an application fee of $65, Official scores from SAT I or ACT, and three SAT II Subject Test, Secondary School Report and Mid-Year School Report filled out by school’s counselor or adviser, and two teacher evaluations filled out by two different subject teachers.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Classics is designed for students who wish to study Greek and Latin literature in equal depth. Students take tutorials in both languages, in the History of Greek Culture and the History of Roman Culture. Students are encouraged to do independent research on unexplored areas in the Classics. All students are to take an exam by the end of senior year, to ensure that in depth learning has taken place. Students are required to take four half-courses in Greek, four half-courses in Latin, four half-courses in the classics, a sophomore year tutorial, a junior year tutorial, and no thesis is required for non-honors students.
