Admission for Emerson College is competitive. The most important criteria is the high school academic record (quality and level of the classes, average GPA, and grade trends) and SAT-I (average of 1140) or ACT tests. The committee also considers the personal statement, talents, work experience, the letter of recommendation, and extracurricular activities . International students must take the TOEFL and get a minimum score of 550 or better (213 or better on the computer-based TOEFL). Students must submit the application form, as well as an application supplement.
Basic Information (Description):
The BS in Political Communication offers students the possibility to focus on a core government and communication education, plus the possibility to specialize in Electoral Politics and Government, Social Advocacy, or Leadership Communication. Students are encouraged to enroll in an internship program, including internships in the Massachusetts State House, located near campus. Required courses include: American Government & politics, Leadership, Conflict and Advocacy, Civil Rights, Communication and the Political World, among others.
