Admision Requirements:
The Admission’s Committee at Dickinson College evaluates student’s: high school academic records, to weigh in the type and quality of classes taken, high school ranking, and the quality of the school; an official recommendation of the student’s guidance counselor, headmaster, principal, or college adviser, and a recommendation letter or letters form teachers; SAT I or ACT scores are not required for admission, but are required for those students applying for scholarships; and extra-curricular and leadership activities.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Economics offers students an opportunity to think creatively and profoundly about the salient economic issues of our world. Students are exposed to traditional and non-traditional theoretical perspectives of economic growth, efficiency, social justice, individual freedom, power, cultural values, discrimination, and environmental concerns. This allows students to think creatively and critically and to create their own vision of the world’s economic issues in the world. Courses offered include: Labor Economics, Money and Banking, Introduction to Economics, Latin American Economies, among many others. Students are encouraged to study abroad in Queensland (Australia), Italy, Cambridge, or at the Washington Center (Washington D.C). this major offers a pretty unique vision of economics, showing students a whole spectrum of theories and practices to apply and use the most appropriate one according to the student’s analysis.
