Admission requirements are: Graduation from high school with GPA of at least 2.5 and completion of either SAT, ACT or a UAA-approved test (high school graduates with GPAs between 2.0 and 2.49 will be admitted on probation); or a successful completion of the GED, and completion of either SAT, ACT or a UAA-approved test. Students must then apply to the School of Education, and fill out forms downloaded from the School's website, in order to gain full acceptance.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Elementary Education is a professional teaching degree. Students take courses in the liberal arts, educational technology, methodology, and theory. Students then have a year long internship that follows the school district’s calendar. This degree leads to the K-6 certification. The year-long internship allows students to have a full year experience of what it is to work with children and teach in grade school.
