The MIE is calculated by using the SAT I total score + 800 x (high school grade point average), or (10 x ACT composite score) + (200 x high school grade point average). Students are also required to take the following high school courses: 4 years of English, 3 years of Mathematics, 3 years of Natural Science, 3 years of Social Science, 2 years of Foreign Language, and 3 electives, with a C or better The BS in Material Engineering, offers students the design and process foundation necessary to design recreational equipment, biotechnology devices, and communication devices. The program gives student professional training with a broad engineering and scientific coursework. The emphasis is on engineering materials' structure, properties, and processing in connection to their performance. Material studied include: metals, semiconductors, polymers, ceramics, and composites. Students are required to take 30 unit credits in General Education Requirements, 6 unit credits in American institutions, 2 unit credits in Physical Education, 31 Mathematics and Science Requirements, and 68 credit-units for the major (engineering and science core and electives).
