Application requirements for Hendrix College include: the CPC (College Preparatory Curriculum), which includes 4 units of English, 3 units of Social Studies, 2 units of Natural Sciences, 3 units of Mathematics, 2 units of Foreign Language; demonstrating rigorous academic achievement in their high school studies; and all students are encouraged to apply regardless of their religion, sexual orientation, age, race, gender, disability, or national origin.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Studio Arts offers students introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in drawing, Art history (Western and non-western cultures), Practicum, painting, ceramics, photography, 3-D courses, printmaking, and etching. Students are required to write a thesis, participate in a Juried Senior Art Show, have a final critique, and present a professional portfolio to the faculty and gallery. Despite the many varied course offerings, the macro and micro objectives of the program are not clear. It is very important that these be explained (somewhere) so that students know what to expect of their college career and of their future.
