Requirements are: GPA 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale, an ACT 20 or higher or SAT combined score of 930 (critical reading and math scores only), and student must have completed or be in the process of completing the 16-unit preparatory core. However, students who do not meet these requirements should apply anyway and may be admitted on the basis of individual review of their applications.
Basic Information (Description):
The BFA in Painting offers student the opportunity to get exposed to a broad spectrum of painting media, methods, and conceptual approaches; to form the necessary foundation from which to draw tools for the student's creative direction. The program offers instruction in oil painting, and water media as well. The apprach is to build a firm foundation of technical skills, pictorial design, spatial representation, and color. Courses include: Painting, Watermedia, Special problems in Painting, and more advanced Painting courses.
