Requirements are: GPA 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale, an ACT 20 or higher or SAT combined score of 930 (critical reading and math scores only), and student must have completed or be in the process of completing the 16-unit preparatory core. However, students who do not meet these requirements should apply anyway and may be admitted on the basis of individual review of their applications.
Basic Information (Description):
The BFA in Photography offers students the opportunity to explore their artistic expression, as well as its commercial application. The program offers a firm foundation in technical skills and image-making concepts for good photography. Introductory courses deal with black-and-white photography, the camera, print, dark rooms, seeing, and critical thinking. Advanced courses focus more on alternative photographic process, digital photography, special problems with photography, color photography, independent studies, documentary photography, and history of photography. Facilities, in terms of labs, are state of the art.
