Admision Requirements:
Students are required to submit: Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended, proof of high school graduation or GED or college degree from a regionally accredited institution or nationally accredited institution. Additionally, students must submit a second application directly for the BFA program, once they have taken specific courses (the last of the 12 hours of the 200-level courses required), and submitted their portfolio for review.
Basic Information (Description):
The BFA in Photography offers students an avant-guard program. Photography is practiced as a creative art, as creative means of expression. The curriculum focuses on developing technical skills, advanced criticism and theory, a firm theoretical foundation, gallery management and history surveys, and a holistic understanding of the history of photography (including seminars in the 19th and 20th century photography). Some of the process students learn is the 19th century painting process, large format techniques, and portraiture. .
