Application to Williams College is competitive. Students applying to the school should definitely take the strongest program of study offered by their high schools: advanced level courses, full College Preparatory Curriculum, SAT or ACT+ writing, extended involvement in school, community, and employment. The admissions team is looking for a unique eccentric class that has pursued its interest as well as leadership skills.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in English offers students an opportunity to study the American and British literary traditions. Students take a core set of courses and may then develop their own course of study. Students are also encouraged to take courses in other humanities and modern languages to complement the study of literature. Students are required to take courses in: literature before the 1700, literature between 1700 and 1900, literature after the 1900, a criticism course, one gateway course, and a comparative literature course.
