Admission process at Davidson is holistic. The two main characteristics the College looks for are: academic potential and motivation for community and beyond-the-classroom engagement. Students are required to submit their high school transcript, class rank, and standardized test scores. The application also provides space for students to demonstrate their artistic, athletics, leadership, and volunteering talents and service. In order of importance the committee looks for: 1- Rigor in high school coursework, 2- success in high school coursework, 3-writign ability and personal impact (analysis of essays and recommendations), 4-leadership, involvement, and service, 5- SAT (math and another subject) or ACT scores.

Basic Information (Description):

The Philosophy Program offers students an opportunity to ask and look for answer to the fundamental questions. Does God exist? What is knowledge? Or others a little bit more specific to a profession, paradox, concept, or a science. Students will learn to approach these questions systematically, paying close attention to details and emphasizing clarity to express themselves. Students will also find the way to e valuating their own beliefs, thinking critically about every issue in their lives.
