Admision Requirements:
Prospective students of the sociology major are offered training in critical analytical skills, social relations, social systems, and varied subfields that include urban sociology racial and ethnic relations, among others. Since sociology is a broad field, graduates can find careers in medicine, law, market research, criminal justice, non profit organizations, and others. Required courses include: introductory sociology courses, six 200 or above level sociology courses, six 300 level courses, 2 seminars, and 2 statistics classes.
Basic Information (Description):
The major in International Relations offers student a multi-disciplinary approach to International Relations. The program is designed to fit many disciplines into the curriculum without extra semester of studying. The multidisciplinary requirements allow students to integrate these other majors. This involvement with various disciplines engages the broad resources of Boston University, allows for flexibility, and offers an unusually extensive number and variety of courses. Requirements for the major are: twelve courses (four from a function track, and four from a regional track, two at the 400 level or above) and two pre-requisites. Students are also encouraged to take mathematics and Statistics and to go abroad for one or more semesters.
