San Francisco State University admission criteria are: high school graduation; have a GED or the California High School Proficiency Exam; meeting the eligibility index with the student’s GPA and ACT/SAT scores; completing the college preparatory work of 4 years of English, 3 years of Mathematics, 3 years of Natural Science, 3 years of Social Science, 2 years of Foreign Language, and 3 electives, with a C or better; Students will also be required to complete the English Placement Test and the Entry Level Mathematics Test before being able to enroll on classes.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Chinese is offered for student who would like careers, which require the use of Chinese, or those who would like to acquire an appreciation of the cultures of the world. The Department offers courses in language, conversation, composition, literature, linguistics, and culture. The major requires student to take 30 units in conversation and reading; speech and writing: advanced Chinese; introduction to classical Chinese; traditional Chinese culture; Linguistics; and translation courses.
