In Admission is based on the completion of the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) with a 3.2 high school GPA average; or a 2.50 GPA and a minimum of 16 on the composite ACT, or 760 on the SAT reading/mathematics; students who complete the CPC with a class rank in the top 50 percent and a minimum of 16 on the ACT or 760 on the SAT; students wit a 2.00 GPA, and 18 on the ACT or 860 on the SAT critical reading /mathematics; and students who meet the certification requirements for the national Collegiate Athletic Association. The College Preparatory Curriculum includes 4 English courses, 3 Mathematics courses, 3 Science Courses, 3 courses in the Social Sciences, 1 or 2 Computer Science courses, and a foreign language. Now, Mississippi residents and do not meet the requirements may enter the Academic Screening Program prior to the beginning of the summer session, and gain later admission and academic assistance if they have a minimum 2.00 GPA average.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in French offers students the opportunity to study French language, literature, and culture. The department is active in the community and organizes different activities for students to participate in the French culture more vividly. Additionally the department is an active member of Pi Delta Phi, the national French Honor Society, students who have French 202, have an overall GPA of 3.0, and a GPA of 3.5 in French courses can apply for it.
