Admission criteria to San Jose State University are the following: students must be high school graduates, completion of high school classes with "C" or better, and meet the Minimum Eligibility Index (for graduates of California high schools, or residents is 2900 and for non residents who are not graduates of California high schools the minimum index is 3502). The MIE is calculated by using the SAT I total score + 800 x (high school grade point average), or (10 x ACT composite score) + (200 x high school grade point average). Students are also required to take the following high school courses: 4 years of English, 3 years of Mathematics, 3 years of Natural Science, 3 years of Social Science, 2 years of Foreign Language, and 3 electives, with a C or better.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Dance offers students an interdisciplinary approach to dance, with an emphasis on dance technique and perfomance. Students are required to take 42 unit credits in General Education Requirements, 6 unit credits in American institutions, 2 unit credits in Physical Education, 3 unit credits in preparation for the major, 53 unit credits required for the major (dance technique and performance), 3 unit credits in Performances, electives, and dance theory.
