The Admissions Committee at Baylor University looks for students who have challenged themselves in and outside the classroom. Students are to express their interest to become "Baylor Bears" and appreciate the kind of education that Baylor has to offer. Students are required to send high school transcripts (including GPA, and advanced classes), SAT or ACT results, class ranking, recommendation letters, short answer essays, and a list of all extra-curricular activities and awards. Students are required to interview and audition to gain entrance to the program.

The BA in theater offers students an opportunity to get a well-rounded and disciplined theater education. Students are required to take courses in Practical Approaches, Voice/Movement, Scenic Elements, Theater History, Lighting, Production, Production, Directing, and electives.
