Admission requirements include the following: a high school preparation of at least four year of English, three years of mathematics, two years of science, and three years of social science; and strongest candidates will have taken honors or advanced placement courses. Students who have not taken this preparation will also be considered on the basis on high school record, scores on standardized tests (SAT I or the ACT with writing), and recommendation of school officials. Candidates are also recommended to have an interview and visit the school. Other factors are also considered, such as community involvement, artistic abilities, and sense of humor.
Basic Information (Description):
The Dance Program offers students an opportunity to study and participate in technique, choreography and analysis, and performance education and training. Students are expected to increase their knowledge of dance as an art form, as well as developing an articulate and trained body able to perform and choreograph skillfully. Courses offered include ballet, modern, jazz, contact, improvisation, anatomy, among many others.
