Application to Williams College is competitive. Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Political Economy offers students an opportunity to be part of the eldest interdepartmental major in the college. The objective of the major is that students understand the ways in which politics an economics interact to form public policies. Students take courses in economics and politics; American and international politics, economic stakes in policy issues, and policy analysis and research. The major is very structures and requires students to take three core courses: Analytical Views of Political Economy, Politics of the International Economy, and an analysis of a major policy issue to provide policy recommendation in groups with a trip to Washington DC, where students interview key policy makers and national experts. The major is unique, legitimately interdisciplinary at its core, very structured, and highly challenging: suited as training for student who would seriously like to make policy in the future.
