Admission requirements are: Graduation from high school with GPA of at least 2.5 and completion of either SAT, ACT or a UAA-approved test (high school graduates with GPAs between 2.0 and 2.49 will be admitted on probation); or a successful completion of the GED, and completion of either SAT, ACT or a UAA-approved test.
Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Sociology offers students an opportunity to focus on general sociology, or to pick a specialization in Family and Life Cycles; or Community Change. Students take a set of core courses in Introduction to Sociology, Social Science Research Methods, Social Psychology, Theories of Sociology, Statistics in the Social Sciences, and a Capstone Seminar. Additionally students are required to complete one of these three options: the Family and Life Cycles option, Community and Change, or General Sociology.
