Basic Information (Description):
The BA in Sociology offers students the opportunity to study all the aspects of society and how it affects us. Students will understand sociological themes and concepts, and how to do research in the sociology field. Students are required to take: one introductory prerequisite, statistics, research methods, social theory, a minimum of 12 credits in the sub-concentration, and electives in sociology at the 200 level or above. Students are also encouraged to pick a concentration among these: Law, Criminology, and Deviance; Social Inequality: Race, Class, and Gender; Social Welfare and Social Services; Health and Aging; International Social Change; and Economy, Business, and Society.
